The City’s Drainage Assistance Program funds drainage projects on private property when stormwater runoff comes from public streets or public property.

Good to know

• Who can use it: You must own residential, commercial or public property in Raleigh, have runoff coming onto it from public streets or public property, and be willing to donate a permanent drainage easement. Flooding from your own grading or landscaping, minor erosion, standing water and roof or gutter problems aren’t eligible.
• About 10 projects are approved each year. Projects are scored and ranked; approval doesn’t depend on when you apply.
• Allow 24 to 48 hours for a reply to calls and emails.
