Raleigh Rainwater Rewards pays most of the cost of projects that soak up or slow down rainwater on your property, such as rain gardens, cisterns, and disconnecting downspouts.

Steps online (phone, tablet or computer)

1. Open the Rainwater Rewards page and fill in the consultation request form linked there.
2. City staff call you within 5 business days to talk through your project.

Good to know

• Cost: The City pays 90% of project costs (you pay 10%). Owners in potentially underserved communities, nonprofits and places of worship may qualify for 100%.
• Who can use it: Properties inside Raleigh city limits that pay stormwater fees. You must agree to a 5- or 10-year maintenance agreement with yearly maintenance reports.
• After approval you have one year to complete the project.
