Report an abandoned vehicle

Provided by: Raleigh Police Department (streets) and City of Raleigh Code Enforcement (private property) (City of Raleigh)

Report a vehicle that seems abandoned. Who handles it depends on where it is. Vehicles on City streets go to the police; junked or abandoned vehicles on private property go to the City’s code enforcement team.

Ways to do it

What you need

Steps by phone

  1. Decide whether the vehicle is on a public street or on private property.
  2. For a City street, call 919-831-6311. For private property, call 919-996-2444.
  3. Describe the vehicle and its location.
