Use Ask Raleigh to report a problem or request a City service
Provided by: City of Raleigh (City of Raleigh)
Ask Raleigh is the City of Raleigh’s online portal for reporting problems (like potholes or graffiti), requesting services, and asking questions. No account is needed, and every request gets a ticket you can follow.
Ways to do it
- Ask Raleigh portal: https://ask.raleighnc.gov/ask
- City of Raleigh general line: call 919-996-3000 (If you can’t use the website, call and staff can point you to the right department.)
What you need
- The address or location of the problem (you can drop a pin on a map)
- A photo, if you can safely take one
- Your name, phone and email, so the City can update you (an account is optional)
Steps online (phone, tablet or computer)
- Go to the Ask Raleigh portal and choose a category, or search for the kind of request.
- Pick the request type. Each form says what it’s for and what to use instead if it doesn’t fit.
- Set the location, describe the problem, and add a photo if you have one.
- Submit the request. Write down or save the ticket number.
- Come back to the portal to check its progress. An account adds tracking and messaging.
Good to know
- Categories: Buses; Customer Experience (including “Request not found” for anything not listed); Noise Feedback; Parking Service; Parks & Recreation; Permits & Planning; Public Nuisance; Solid Waste Services; Stormwater & Water; Transportation & Mobility.
- Each form shows an estimated delivery time (for example, 30 days for potholes, 180 days for signs and signals).
- Not in the portal - bulky, special and e-waste pickups and water or sewer problems are handled by phone at 919-996-3245.
- Ask Raleigh replaced the City’s earlier SeeClickFix tool in July 2025. It’s a website; no separate app was found.
- Only report real problems. Practice or test requests create work for City staff.
- Ask Raleigh is for non-emergency requests.
civic-atlas covers non-emergency services only. It does not detect or route emergencies; for an emergency, contact emergency services directly.
