Pay your vehicle property tax (with your NC registration renewal)

In North Carolina, property tax on a registered vehicle is paid to the NC DMV together with your registration renewal (“Tag & Tax Together”). Questions are split between NC DMV and Wake County.

Good to know

• Ask NC DMV about the registration fee, plate transfers, or a vehicle moved out of Wake County.
