Provided by: Wake County Fire Services and Emergency Management (Wake County)

ReadyWake Alerts is Wake County’s free emergency alert service. After you register, you get alerts by phone call, text or email for the addresses you choose, such as home and work.

Ways to do it

• ReadyWake Alerts sign-up: https://readywake.com/readywake-alerts
• About Wake County alerts and warnings: https://www.wake.gov/departments-government/fire-services-emergency-management/emergency-management/alerts-notifications-and-warnings

What you need

• The address (or addresses) you want alerts for
• A phone number and/or email address

Steps online (phone, tablet or computer)

1. Open the ReadyWake Alerts page and choose to sign up.
2. Create your account and enter the addresses you care about.
3. Choose how you want to be alerted (call, text and/or email).
4. Finish registration. Use the alert dashboard later to update addresses or opt out.

Good to know

• Alerts are based on the addresses you register, not where your phone is.
• Wireless Emergency Alerts (like Amber Alerts) need no sign-up. Just make sure emergency alerts are turned on in your phone’s settings.
